Another sad blog entry written by a poor obese:
"This morning I came right into my office & before I even realized it, without grabbing my Slim Fast, I had eaten about 13 mini candy bars left over from Halloween. I mean, is it just that I have reached a point of no return?? I cannot seem to get my willpower together at all. I KNOW I am killing myself. I feel horrible. My lower back & knees aches so much from even walking through my house. I cannot even bend over to pick something up when I drop it with this stupid stomach in my way. And this morning, as I went to button my plus size 34/36 pants I had to fight to close them around me. Sometimes ai feel like such a failure. I took a c=good look at myself in the mirror last night - you know, that naked inspection we all do from time to time. I am not really even "me" anymore, but rather just a person covered from head to toe in rolls & rolls of fat. It hangs from almost every part of my body. Ive now noticed that most of shirts are getting to the point where they are shorter, because I am wider. I guess in the past my denail went so deep that I truly thought as long as they covered my stomach, no one knew how fat I was. I know, insanity at it's best. But now my stomach seems to be hanging below the bottom almost nearly all my shirts, & there is simply no hiding it at all. Look world, I'm FAT!
I feel like Im trapped inside my own body. I know this fat is killing me. My blood pressure is through the roof. But yet, I continue to eat non stop. There has to be a way out of this madness.

May this motivate all of us to just say no to obesity!

Normal Weight Doesn't Always Equal Healthy Weight
No 'weight discrimination' allowed here. ;)
Yes, it's true. At any weight, body fat is harmful!
Read this interesting aricle: |http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/01/AR2008040100754.html|
Basically, it says that we have to pay strict attention to our body fat percentage (as opposed to weight) and strive to keep it low.
Well, for my part, I plan to keep both my weight and my body fat percentage very low!
If you're too busy to read it, I list the most important findings here:
"Despite appearances to the contrary, more than half of normal-weight Americans have a high percentage of body fat. And, like their overweight contemporaries, this makes them susceptible to heart disease, diabetes and other metabolic disorders, a new study says."
"These findings should alert doctors that body weight isn't the only way to protect against health problems caused by excess pounds, Lopez-Jimenez said. Even normal-weight people should be advised to exercise and eat a healthful diet to reduce their level of fat, especially belly fat, he added."
"Even a small amount of extra fat where it matters most can wreak metabolic havoc, increasing risk for diabetes and heart disease, while leaving you with a body weight that looks perfectly innocent," Katz said. "Excess body fat in the belly is a menace, whatever your weight. This study should sensitize patients and providers alike to this concern."

How does it feel to be obese?
How does it feel to be obese?
Well, if you want to know, read this poor, poor, obese woman's blog (|http://gottagetthisweightoff.blogspot.com/|).
"Well, it's been a long time since I posted, & to be honest, I'm not sure anyone reads this anyway. Even I had almost forgotten about it. As of my last posting I was 438lbs. I wish I could tell you guys I have found the secret - the magic answer - or even a way to get my own eating under control. But the truth is I spent the summer on one endless food binge, & it seems to be continuing into the fall. I am now weighing in at 465lbs. Im still walking, but it's definitely a VERY slow, side to side waddle now. Resting to catch my breath is necessary after a minute or two, and the burning pain I get in my lower back from standing or walking has gotten almost unbearable. Im still gaining mostly in my stomach, which is now hanging low enough to be a huge issue with clothes, balance, etc. Ive also got the double belly syndrome - my upper roll is so big & round that its out like a beach ball, & fold over my belly button. then my lower "apron," is what is heavy & hanging. Life is not easy now. Staying home, relaxing in bed eating is the easiest thing these days. It takes forever to get up, to go anywhere, to do anything. It hurts. But still I eat. Go figure."

"A typical food day? I wont list my meals, but lets say I put away more in one day than an average man does in several days. I eat one never-ending meal. Food consumes me.Thoughts of it, when can I get it? What can I have? One breakfast is never enough. Breakfast leads to candy bars, to donuts, to chips, lunches of several burgers, fries, shakes, sometimes salads, veggies (yes, I do like healthy food,) which leads to afternoon snacks of more chips, soda (ironically the diet variety) candy bars, pastries, cookies, wich leads to a taco bell stop on the way home, followed by a dinner of steak, lasagna, pizza, chicken -c whatever it happens to be and that leads into a night of hot dogs, macaroni & cheese, ice cream, cookies, candy, frozen burritos - you get the picture. I eat all day. I work in an office. My desks are both crammed with food. I eat in the car. I eat in bed. I eat during the night. I eat I eat I eat."

And read the disgusting, vile comments by so called fat-admirers or fat-fetishists. Icky, icky, icky.
So disturbing, so sad.
I hope she is still alive.

Icky - overweight wins 'America's Next Top Model'
Looks like the obese are finally taking over.
Today, it is acceptable for models to be overweight....
Tomorrow, it will be acceptable for models to be obese.
One wonders if this is really the future....
or
will a morally sound and healthy lifestyle return.

No wonder the obese have no more shame and wear clothes forcing their icky bodies upon others.

A new rule for me Or If you need to lose weight quickly...
An effective (but no fun) way to lose weight quickly is the so called 2-4-6-8 diet.
As somebody who succeeded in weight loss writes (from |http://www.steadyhealth.com/2_4_6_8_diet_t54119.html|):
"I'm not anorexic but I too have read about this diet, and in an effort to lose weight before a cruise last year, I decided to give it a try. It's extremely hard to limit yourself to 200, 300, even 400 calories a day... you get tired, you have horrendous headaches, you basically feel like crap for those few days... but in the end, you get the result you wanted if you stick to it. I lost about 15 lbs in less than a week. It was absolutely shocking to me that I could lose so much weight so quickly. All the 'experts' will tell you also that if you're losing weight this rapidly then it isn't fat, it's mostly water, and it'll reappear the moment you begin to eat normally again... but the truth is, I kept off the weight I lost permanently. I think that the rhetoric about the awful dangers of these kinds of diets are exaggerated a bit. A lot of people fast, and this is just a unique form of fasting. It's not an "all the time" thing, but If you do the 2-4-6-8 diet say, once a month or every two months, I believe that it can be a safe way to lose weight, rev up your metabolism, and cleanse your system. If you have the strength and will-power to persevere through the short period of intense discomfort, then more power to you."
I like this: " If you have the strength and will-power to persevere through the short period of intense discomfort, then more power to you". This might become a new rule for my healthy lifestyle.
